Farm Truck

This type originated in 1956 and used the letter “F” as a prefix to the county number (and later as a prefix to the serial number). This classification was for trucks employed primarily on farms and ranches. The last known year for this format was 1974, which corresponded to the last year in which county numbers were used on truck plates. In 1975 the FT prefix was implemented, which has been a source of confusion with Freight Trailer plates which for a time used the same prefix.
